WebEatery vs. Popmenu
Popmenu and WebEatery get compared a lot, and they shouldn't be—they're built around different centers of gravity. Popmenu is a restaurant marketing platform that added ordering. WebEatery is an ordering platform that added marketing. That difference shows up in the price list before it shows up anywhere else.
What Popmenu Costs
Popmenu runs $179–$499/month across its Starter, Essentials, and Premier tiers—and online ordering isn't in any of them. It's a separate add-on carrying a flat $1.00 per online order, which Popmenu lets you either pass to the guest at checkout or absorb yourself. SMS is metered by tier at 500 or 5,000 messages a month. A branded mobile app is offered but isn't publicly priced. Popmenu is a marketing platform first, and the ordering is sold alongside it.
What WebEatery Costs
$165/month for the first location
A commission-free, branded online ordering storefront for pickup and delivery, hosted on a free webeatery.menu address or your own custom domain, and built to be found in search and AI assistants.
You Can Pay $499 and Not Be Taking Orders
Popmenu's three published tiers—Starter, Essentials, and Premier—do not include online ordering. Not the entry tier, not the middle one, and not the $499 one at the top. It's bought separately on every plan.
That's the fact to hold onto when you compare monthly numbers: Popmenu's headline price and WebEatery's headline price are not buying the same thing.
Then a Dollar an Order
The ordering add-on carries a flat $1.00 on every online order.
Popmenu gives you a choice about who absorbs that dollar: pass it to the guest at checkout, or eat it yourself. Both cost something. Passed on, it's the same friction any surcharge creates on a direct order. Absorbed, it's a variable line item on top of a subscription that starts at $179 and runs to $499 before ordering is switched on at all.
At 1,000 orders a month, that's $12,000 a year, on either side of the counter.
Customers pay the restaurant's menu price—WebEatery adds no service fee.
Two Platforms, Two Centers of Gravity
Popmenu's interactive menus, review management, and AI-written campaigns are strong—that's the product, and it's well built. Ordering is the thing you bolt on.
WebEatery is the other way round. The storefront and the apps are the product; rewards, print marketing, and analytics come with them at no extra tier. Neither approach is wrong, but they suit different restaurants, and the one that suits you is mostly a question of whether your bottleneck right now is marketing reach or the ordering experience itself.
Where Popmenu is the Better Choice
If marketing is what you're actually buying, Popmenu outruns us on breadth. The website builder is more flexible than most in this category, the reputation and review tooling is deep, and the AI-assisted campaign and review-reply features have no equivalent here. Premier's waitlist and reservations cover table-service needs that WebEatery doesn't address at all.
If you're a full-service restaurant whose main problem is filling seats rather than taking orders, that's a genuinely better fit.
