WebEatery vs. MenuDrive
MenuDrive is the one platform here that undercuts us on the headline number—$149 a month against $165. It's a real product with a real POS behind it. The $16 gap just doesn't survive contact with the rest of the price list.
What MenuDrive Costs
MenuDrive, owned by Lavu, runs $149/month plus a $149 setup fee and a 3% + 20¢ fee on every transaction—all three listed under a "no hidden costs" headline on the same page. Ordering is mobile web only, with no branded app at any price, and SMS covers order notifications rather than marketing campaigns.
What WebEatery Costs
$165/month for the first location
Do the Arithmetic on the Transaction Fee
Take a restaurant doing $12,000 a month in online orders across 300 tickets. The transaction fee alone is roughly $420 a month. Add the $149 subscription and you're at $569—against $165 here, with your card processing running through your own Clover or Square account at whatever rate you already negotiated.
The $16 headline difference is reversed by about the 11th order of the month—and that's before the setup fee.
No App, at Any Price
MenuDrive's ordering is mobile web only. There's no branded app on the App Store or Google Play, and no tier that adds one.
Your storefront as mobile apps for iOS and Android, listed on the App Store and Google Play, branded with your restaurant's name, logo, and colors.
That's the difference between a link your customer has to find again each time and an icon that sits on their home screen. Its SMS is also order notifications rather than marketing—useful, but not the same thing as being able to reach your list.
A points-based rewards program and targeted promotional offers to keep customers coming back.
Where MenuDrive is the Better Choice
If you're already running Lavu as your point of sale, MenuDrive is native to it in a way no third party can match—one vendor, one support line, one bill. If you were buying that POS anyway, this comparison isn't really the one to be having, and we'd rather you got the integrated thing than a better storefront bolted onto a worse fit.
MenuDrive also ships group ordering and built-in ad tooling that have no direct equivalent here.
And if your online volume is genuinely low, the transaction fee barely registers. At 40 orders a month the 3% + 20¢ costs you about $56—so MenuDrive lands near $205 against our $165, and the gap is small enough that the branded app is the only thing really separating them. It's when the orders grow that the arithmetic turns.
